Dedicated to recycling County property, we sell and donate surplus items to the public.
Surplus & Sustainability
Did you know that we are experts in re-use and recycling?
Our Property & Salvage department ensures that the County’s surplus items — from plain office paper to motor vehicles — are re-used, recycled or resold.
We make the most out of every taxpayer dollar we spend. And, by keeping items out of landfill, we’re keeping Alameda County green.
Community Donations
Last year, we donated nearly $4,000 in surplus items to community nonprofits.
County’s Donations Program: Do you know a nonprofit in need of office furnishings and other surplus supplies? Nonprofits currently registered with the County can benefit from our donations program.
Do Business With Us: Community-based organizations must be in contract with the County to participate. Learn how to become a vendor with the County.
