Join us in celebrating the grand opening of the Cherryland Community Center in Hayward on Saturday, October 16. The 17,500-square-foot center near the corner of Boston and Hampton roads will provide space for community members of all ages to build social connections, participate in enriching cultural activities, develop life skills, and have fun. It includes three multi-purpose rooms for activities and classes, a reading/computer room with a satellite Alameda County library, and a large community room. Parking spaces have also been expanded by nearly 86% to accommodate the expected increase in visitors.
Planning for the center began in 2009, and construction began in April of 2018. It took the combined effort of the County of Alameda and the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District to make the $22 million state-of-the-art facility a reality. This beautiful Community Center will become the focal point of this close-knit community’s civic, cultural, and recreational activities.
