Alameda County’s sleek, modern Cherryland Fire Station, redesigned and rebuilt under direction from GSA’s Design & Construction team, won recognition this year from the California Counties Architects & Engineers Association (CCAEA).
The $7.5M project outfitted the single engine company station with two apparatus bays, a workshop, an exercise room, offices, sleeping rooms and associated dayroom and kitchen facilities. The new facility replaces the existing Cherryland Fire Station currently located at Meekland Avenue & Grove Way and provides for an updated, code-compliant state of the art fire facility.
CCAEA’s annual awards honor and recognize outstanding capital improvement projects and the County personnel responsible for them.
The CCAEA Awards Presentation will be virtual this year along with other award presentations on April 30, 2021 as part of the County General Services Association (CGSA) annual conference from April 28 – 30, 2021.
